Give A Try: Two Free June Calendars for Well-Being

Mental health does not always need to start with a major life overhaul. Sometimes it begins with one small practice: pausing for a few minutes, noticing something good, reaching out to someone, going outside, or using one of your strengths in a more intentional way.

For June, we are sharing two free well-being calendars that offer simple daily prompts for reflection, connection, and positive mental health.

VIA Character Strengths Calendar

The VIA Character Strengths Calendar is rooted in positive psychology and focuses on using personal strengths in everyday life. Each day offers a small prompt connected to strengths such as curiosity, kindness, humour, fairness, love of learning, gratitude, and self-compassion.

This calendar can be a helpful way to notice what is already strong within you, rather than only focusing on what feels difficult or broken.

Greater Good Happiness Calendar

The Greater Good Science Center Happiness Calendar offers daily practices connected to emotional well-being, relationships, slowing down, forgiveness, awe, nature, and meaningful connection.

This calendar is especially useful for people who want simple reminders to be more present, more connected, and more intentional in daily life.

How to Use These Calendars

You do not need to complete every prompt.

In fact, it may be more helpful to choose one or two practices each week and actually try them, rather than turning the calendar into another task list.

You might use these calendars by:

  • choosing one prompt each Monday for the week ahead
  • placing a calendar on the fridge for the family
  • using a prompt as a journal reflection
  • sharing one prompt with a child, teen, partner, friend, or team
  • noticing which practices feel helpful enough to repeat

Small practices can become meaningful when they are repeated over time.

A Gentle Reminder

Well-being is not about forcing happiness or pretending life is easy. It is about making space for moments of connection, reflection, gratitude, humour, rest, and meaning — even when life is complicated.

Pick what feels realistic. Leave what does not fit. Repeat what helps.
